I only heard of Mary Blair recently after reading an article about her prolific work for Walt Disney in Lula magazine (my favourite fashion bible). Having grown up on a diet of Bambie, The Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White et al, it was quite exciting to find out about one of the talented artists behind the magic. The images above are beautiful representations of Alice and the enchanting world in which she finds herself after falling down the rabbit hole. I’m dedicating this post to my sister, my very own Alice in Wonderland and hope she enjoys Mary Blair’s illustrations and listening to Jefferson Airplane White Rabbit as much as I do.

The beautiful Elle Fanning in Super 8. Say what you want about child stars, but there is definitely something special about her. Loved this movie, loved the nostalgia factor, loved Elle’s performance.

Sky high club

Since investing in a pair of clogs from Lotta from Stockholm at the beginning of the summer (which once broken in became mighty comfortable) I had kind of given up on wearing high heels. But these beauties have broken the spell. The perfect wedge-meets-platform from quirky London brand PPQ for Office. I prefer the purple, but my shoe collection is exclusively black and I worry they’d feel out of place.

Help! I can’t stop listening to Cults. Addicted doesn’t even begin to describe my situation. Originally I was abducted, but now I am a willing follower. Join me.

Animal magic

Now here’s a furry accessory I can get on board with. Cruella De Vil-inspired dalmation print pieces may have been the big story at Topshop Unique and Burberry Prorsum this season, but elsewhere canines and felines are taking centre stage in major campaigns and editorial. Not only has Louis Vuitton used a pug dog in its AW11 advertisement, but models also posed with King Charles Spaniels (my favourite breed of pooch). And actress Amanda Seyfried has been shot for Elle US holding a white fluffy kitty, which I think perfectly complements the US star’s gorgeously wide cat-like eyes. Pets are the new purses, you heard it here first.

One of the strangest things I’ve found on the internet of late (and there are many strange things out there) is this Tumblr featuring photos of Canadian crooner and all-round hottie Michael Buble being stalked by a Velociraptor. Enjoy…
